Some things we should just ponder. Here are two Folger's coffee commercials, the first from the 1950's, the second from 2006:
At first, I thought this 2006 commercial was a film-school spoof but it's absolutely real. I've no commentary here, but I do wish to disclaim any intent to promote Folger's coffee.

My God, that's the freakiest thing I've ever seen in my life.
With any luck it will be good aversion therapy and prevent me drinking too much coffee in future.
Thank you Charlotte. Aversion therapy is a splendid idea, though I like coffee too much to risk aversion from that. If I could employ it, though, to avert some of the political foolishness over here, I would.
Oh dear one Wd have thought they fired that ad agency after the first commercial
Thank you, Andrea. Folgers had a series of misogynistic commercials decades back which then morphed over time into just oddly singular ones.
